The Founder

Richard started in building and construction in 2003, when he built his first modular home project with a developer in Northern California. As a creative businessman, the art and science of construction drew him in as he saw a need for housing, and a better way to do things. He learned the entitlement process by meeting with city officials, architects and building department leaders to get challenging projects approved.
In 2005, he bought and remodeled his first multi family building with great success. He loves to roll up his sleeves and work with his crews. Over the years, he has remodeled over 20 homes and built several ground up new construction single family homes.
In 2023, he founded STEEL BUILT out of his passion for creating high quality, cost effective homes.
